Le Beaujolais nouveau est arrivé!
Every year on the third Thursday of November, newly released bottles from Beaujolais are uncorked across France, accompanied by parties and fireworks. The festivities aren’t just restricted to France though, bottles are shipped (sometimes even flown) across the globe in a mad rush to allow the bottles to drunk on the same day they’re released at the wineries back in Beaujolais. Perhaps reaching peak popularity back in the 1970’s, Beaujolais Nouveau Day is now once again a ‘thing’ with huge parties going off from London to NY and everywhere in between.
This year, folks in Manchester don’t need to have any fear of missing out, here at The Quick Brown Fox we're going to be celebrating like it’s 1978 and bringing in enough Beaujolais for you to drown in. As well as numerous bottles from different, top quality, wine makers, we’ve also been lucky enough to secure a keg of Le Grappin’s Beaujolais Villages Nouveau. This is made from old vines from a single plot of land in the Côte de Brouilly. It’s made in tiny quantities and is on a super strict allocation so we’re really chuffed to be allowed to get our hands on some for you.
We’re going to be starting our festivities at 5pm, with dj’s serving up a selection of tunes à la française, and free cheese being dished out! It’s sure to be a busy evening so get down early if you want to get a table. À ta santé!
